“If You Advertise It, They Will Buy” Isn’t Enough

Every now and then, we come across a quote that perfectly sums up our feelings.

This morning, Danny and the team read this column.

It includes the line: “the thought that ‘if you advertise it, they will buy,’ is false.”

The preceding heading holds the key: “you have to consider the complete path to purchase.”

This is true of whatever industry you’re in. Running a hardware store, a tree service company, an Italian restaurant, a rehab, a workers’ compensation law firm, or anything else – that sentence is true.

You need to be able to do so much more than just advertise.

Sure, advertising can help. But, it can’t do all of the work for you. Not anymore.

That’s just one of the many reasons that Danny has developed Website Depot into a “full service marketing company.”

All of the services augment and boost the client, so that they get more out of everything that they do.

Acting Strategically Instead of Merely Reacting

Whether you’re working with a marketing company or doing your own marketing, everything must come from strategy.

It can’t just be: “well, we need to improve our marketing, so it’s time to run some ads.”

That’s basically just gambling.

You aren’t executing a plan, you’re hoping.

And, hopefully, that works.

Maybe you’ll pay for some ads, throw some money out there, and get some customers.

But, for this to be a sustainable business model, you have to keep being right. You have to continually gamble, continually hope, and continually win.

That doesn’t work in the long run.

It probably doesn’t work in the short run, either.

However, with an executable strategy, based on experience as well as a careful reading of analytics, your business can succeed.

Danny Star can help with that and so much else. To contact him for a remote marketing consulting in Los Angeles session, call (213) 457-3250.
