There is little more important to your marketing than the written word.
Sometimes, it might not seem that way.
After all, typing words takes fractions of a second. They can be deleted even faster.
But, for all the importance of graphics, pictures, videos, and more, writing is still critical to the digital marketing success (and so much more) for your company.
Blogs, social media, articles, emails, and more: writing has never been more important.
To get it right, you have to have the right attitude as well as the right people on your side.
Writing Has Only Gotten More Important
“Phrasee” is a company that focuses on copywriting. In a recent, pandemic-era study, they found that “30% of respondents say that their CEO pays more attention to the power of language now than before the COVID-19 pandemic.”
For Danny and the team here, it was nice to get a hearty laugh on a Monday morning.
What CEO didn’t think that “the power of language” was important before the pandemic?
The “power of language” has always been important.
That’s true regardless of your industry.
Sure, people may be focusing on it more now since they probably aren’t going out as much. But, if you’re looking for someone to work with your company, you want someone who always knew that “the power of language was important.” That shows far better business acumen (to say nothing of intelligence) than someone who just discovered how important words are.
Resource Allocation
This study went on to find that “71% expect to focus more on content and language when they do their next marketing plan and budgeting.”
That goes hand in hand with another finding: 36% of marketing companies told them that “we struggle to create good content that uses effective language because we don’t have enough writers on staff.”
That struck Danny and the team here as odd for any number of reasons.
The truth is that you don’t need “more writers” exactly. Yes, it’s good to have multiple writers. That’s particularly true when it comes to writers with diverse experiences and backgrounds. They’ll be able to connect your brand to more, different kinds of customer groups in an authentic, organic way.
You need the right writers.
On top of that, you need the right strategy.
